The truth is never the whole story.

What you believe is only part of the story.

We all like to believe we know the difference between truth and lies. It’s comforting. Facts are facts. Lies are lies. Good people tell the truth. Bad people don’t.

But what happens when you discover that what you believed was true was only part of the truth?

A missing piece. A hidden motive. A forgotten detail. A story told so many times that nobody remembers where it began.

And when the missing pieces finally come together, something becomes very uncomfortable:

A lie doesn’t always have to be false. Sometimes it’s the truth with something left out. Sometimes it’s the truth told from the wrong perspective. Sometimes it’s the truth everyone agrees not to see.

And sometimes the truth is worse than the lie.

That’s where my stories begin. I’m D. T. Stelmaszek. I write dark mysteries, psychological thrillers, conspiracies, and stories about people who discover that the world they thought they understood isn’t quite the world they’re living in.

The clues are there. The inconsistencies are there. The people who know something aren’t talking. And the person searching for the truth may be the one person who should have left it alone.

Look closer.

I’m building a collection of stories where nothing is quite what it seems — and where discovering the truth doesn’t necessarily mean discovering what really happened.

Join me and be among the first to receive an exclusive free story when it becomes available. You’ll also be the first to hear about new books, stories, and projects as they develop.

But consider this your warning: once you know the whole story, you may never look at the truth the same way again.

Because sometimes the lie is easier to live with.
