D. T. Stelmaszek is a writer, filmmaker, photographer, and longtime storyteller whose career has taken him through advertising, television, commercial production, and independent film.
For more than two decades, he has worked behind the camera and behind the scenes, producing, directing, writing, and editing stories for a wide range of audiences. That experience has given him a particular appreciation for the details that can change the way a story is understood — and for the fact that there is often more going on beneath the surface than first appears.
Writing has become a natural extension of that work.
Stelmaszek’s fiction explores mysteries, psychological tension, conspiracies, and the complicated people caught in them. He is drawn to stories where the obvious explanation isn’t necessarily the correct one, where characters have their own reasons for what they do, and where discovering the truth can raise as many questions as it answers.
His approach to storytelling comes from years of observing people, creating visual stories, and wondering what might be happening just outside the frame.
When he’s not writing, he continues to work in photography and video production and finds plenty of reasons to keep a camera nearby.
He lives in Florida with his wife, Judi.
